Handi Gundi Trek - Tranquility all around!

Bengaluru is a destined paradise for all kind of trekkers, as there are easily dozens of trek options for beginners to expert treks in less than few hundred kms. And in less than 60 kms radius can find easily bunch of fort-hills to climb.

Handi Gundi is one of the hills in the Ramnagara range of hills, yet it is unique in many ways, it might not be challenging climb but views from summit is astonishing. My encounter to this hills was unexpected, when our trek group "Bengaluru Moon Trekkers" suddenly one Friday evening proposed to do it on weekend :)

Reaching the hills is fairly simple, the google maps more or less guides to the base of the hills, from highway cross the railway crossings, and it is indeed visible from the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway. however to follow the trail from there on it tricky as no clear path, locals should be able to guide there. Parking can be done in the village near the base of the hills.

Sunrise or Sunset should be best to enjoy the view from the hills, so as usual we started from bengaluru at 4am and reached the base by 6 Am.

Difficulty Level: Easy
Distance: 2.5 kms (1 hr)
Best time: Any time (Monsoon might be slippery)
DIY Trek: Yes (Children ? Yes > 8 yrs)
Trail type: Initial Nomadic walk, then trail winds through srub and ridges, at half way through the mountain looks like ox back..!
Altitude: 1132 ft to 2450 ft 
Breakfast: Janardhana Hotel, Ramnagar (Dose & Yummy Mysuru Pak)
